Ordering fresh Valentine’s Day roses on our wholesale marketplace is fast, simple, and cost-effective, but there’s a lot more happening behind the scenes before those stems reach your hands. As Valentine’s Day approaches, we’re working hard to make sure you receive the highest-quality flowers right when you need them.

Flower Journey 2

At iBuyFlowers, our top priorities remain simple and the same:

  • Deliver the freshest farm-direct flowers.
  • Make your Valentine’s prep as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Valentine’s Day continues to grow year after year, especially when it comes to flower demand. According to market research from Prince & Prince (P&P), the U.S. floral market experiences consistent increases in Valentine’s Day sales each season. With demand rising and customers expecting premium quality, ordering early and planning ahead has never been more important.

To give you a clearer picture of what makes your Valentine’s Day orders possible, here’s a look at how your roses travel from the farm to your doorstep.

Harvested Fresh at the Farm

It all starts in the field. Growers hand-select stems at peak freshness, ensuring they’ve had the perfect balance of sunlight, hydration, and nutrition. Once harvested, stems are gathered into bunches and carefully packed into temperature-controlled shipping boxes designed to protect them throughout their journey.

Flower Journey 1

Transported from the Farm to the Airport

From the farm, your flowers begin their trip with FedEx, heading to the nearest airport in their country of origin. At this stage, our on-site quality supervisors stay hands-on, verifying that every box meets strict standards. Stems are checked for issues like breakage, botrytis, or early signs of disease to ensure only top-quality flowers move forward. A temperature controlled FedEx airliner carries all of our florals to the US, ensuring the cold chain is not broken.

Arrival in the United States

Once the flowers land in the U.S., they are inspected by customs clearance in a large cooled warehouse, then they’re routed to a regional hub closest to the customer’s location. The turnaround is incredibly fast, with most orders arriving the very next day. At the hub, the boxes are handed off to the delivery drivers for the final leg of the trip.
